If you are ready to embrace this journey and make a difference, we welcome you to join us in our Online English M.Ed. Program in Inclusive Education for At-Risk Children and Youth.
Our unique program is designed to enhance your professional development using various therapeutic and educational tools tailored to the field of education.
Many children and youth who are in need and have difficulty adapting to the standard education system, have typical potential, which is not fully realized within the existing educational framework. These students, classified as at risk and excluded, frequently experience failure, and their academic achievements often lag behind. The well-being of the youth is directly affected by those around them in the circles of life: The family, the school, and peers. The system’s approach towards them only partially addresses their needs and aspirations, whereas their well-being requires the holistic use of interventions across all the systems affecting their lives.
We will work together to devise strategies for establishing meaningful relationships with at-risk students and their families while developing in-depth observation skills. In addition, we will assist you in cultivating your personal and professional abilities and developing your professional identity as an educator specializing in teaching marginalized and at-risk students.
The broad and in-depth background required for the development of this profession is integrated within the program as multidisciplinary knowledge that combines topics from the fields of anthropology, sociology, psychology, and education.
A core focus of the program lies on fostering a nuanced understanding of students across various spheres: Psychological-educational, academic, social, and familial.
Central to the development of a professional identity in education is the integration of personal values and teaching abilities. Educators working with at-risk and excluded students must align their personalities and approaches with core value concepts, offering a meaningful alternative to the risk cycle. Our program’s courses and assignments are meticulously crafted to facilitate this process, prioritizing the enhancement and empowerment of educators’ personalities as influential figures in the lives of their students.
The seminars are comprehensive courses that guide interns toward learning and exploring various topics related to risk and exclusion. These topics include self-regulation, multiculturalism, juvenile delinquency, risk and resilience, social rights, and more. Each student in the program is required to submit two term papers.
